Before I am a photographer, I am a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a friend. Maybe that's why I cry during every father daughter dance. I laugh at every toast. I well up when an Officiant pronounces a couple husband and wife. I buzz with joy chasing children around the playground. I feel awe when a newborn's tiny hand clutches my pinky finger. I draw from the emotions I have experienced through my own life's most precious moments to know when and how to capture those of others, and I usually can't help feeling overwhelmed myself! The emotional rush I feel when I'm behind the camera is what makes me love what I do. The joy I bring others through photography is what makes me do what I love.

Nicole and Kelley :: Commitment Ceremony :: Linganore Winecellars, Mt. Airy, Maryland

Nicole and Kelley's commitment ceremony was beautiful, moving, and just plain fun. It was such a joy to be a part of their special day!

I started out the day at Nicole's sister's house to capture some getting ready pictures. I love this picture of Nicole descending down the staircase. And really, what a gorgeous dress!

Nicole's niece and nephew were the ring bearer and flower girl. How cute are they?!

Rain all morning moved the ceremony inside at
Linganore Winecellars.

"Mrs. and Mrs."!

Luckily for us, the rain cleared up and we were able to head out to the gorgeous grounds at
Linganore.

I was so lucky to have the fabulous
Jenn Link with me to photograph Nicole and Kelley's wedding. Love this image that Jenn caught.

I absolutely adore this image of
Jenn's. Too cute!

Nicole and Kelley put a lot of time and effort into all the little details. I absolutely love how they carried the winery theme throughout their wedding. The place cards are to die for!

The next two are a couple more favorite images by Jenn! I just love it when couples decide to do a final dance and a formal exit. It just finishes off the night so nicely.

You can view more of my favorites from the day in the Slideshow.

You have a very creative mind. I especially like the photo with the flowers laying along the side of the road as the couple walks away. Very nice.

Great job. I love the first dance photo with the reflection from the floor. Brilliant.
Can't wait until ceremonies like these are accepted as legal marriages (or at least civil unions) all over the country.
