First let me apologize for the long silence on my blog! I've been hard at work getting everyone's family portrait sessions taken, processed and uploaded and finishing albums to get them ordered in time for the holidays! I have tons of sessions to blog - some from before Thanksgiving that I hadn't gotten to blogging yet and 10 or so families I've photographed since my last blog post.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled blog posting... I photographed Carrie and Jay's Engagement Session over Thanksgiving while I was visiting my family in Cleveland, Ohio. Carrie was a guest at Tara & Eric's wedding in January and called me when she and Jay got engaged. Even more exciting is that she lives and is getting married near my hometown. I am thrilled to be photographing their wedding in July.
We went out to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, Ohio for the session. I love old mansions and gardens and even though it was cold and wintery, and most of the leaves had fallen off the trees, it was gorgeous and rich with texture.
This is my absolute favorite image of Carrie & Jay. I just love everything about it.
Check out a few more of my favorites here in the slideshow!

Gorgeous! Great job!!
that first shot is GORGEOUS! it's like what all of those 1970s department store photographers' backdrops aspired to be but couldn't (that's a compliment). Beautiful work!

I love these engagement photos too! I love the firt one in color - there's a neat contrast between the couple in the foreground & the beautiful background that looks like a painting! And that walkway is stunning! Great work Jessica!
